Delete from the app

1. Open the Culdesac app and sign in.
2. Tap the Profile tab.
3. Tap Settings.
4. Tap Delete Account at the bottom of the list.
5. Confirm. Your account is deleted immediately and you're signed out.

Delete by email

If you can't sign in or prefer email, send a message to [email protected] from the email address tied to your account. Include "Delete my account" in the subject line. We'll confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days.

What gets deleted

• Your email, password, and authentication records
• Your profile name, age, bio, photos, and interests
• Your push notification tokens
• Your event RSVPs and club memberships
• Your moments, posts, comments, and likes (and the media files you uploaded)
• Events you created, along with their RSVPs
• Your saved location and city preferences

What we keep, and why

• Messages you sent in group chats are preserved but shown as from a deleted user (no name, no photo). This keeps conversations readable for the people you chatted with — deleting your half of a conversation would break their context.
• Clubs you owned have ownership transferred to the next admin or member. If you were the only member, the club is deleted entirely.
• Limited records required by law (e.g. abuse reports, transaction records if applicable) may be retained for the period required by applicable regulations, then deleted.
• Aggregated, anonymous analytics (e.g. "100 users joined an event last week") that cannot be tied back to you.

Timeline

In-app deletion is immediate. Email-based deletion is processed within 30 days of receiving your request. Backups are purged on the standard backup rotation, typically within 60 days.

Delete some of your data without deleting your account

You don't have to delete your entire account to remove specific data. From within the app:

• Profile fields — edit or clear your name, bio, profile picture, and interests in Profile → Edit Profile.
• Moments and posts — open any moment or post you created and tap the menu → Delete.
• Comments — long-press any comment you wrote and tap Delete.
• Club memberships — open a club and tap Leave Club.
• Event RSVPs — open an event and change your RSVP, or tap Unjoin.
• Events you created — open the event and tap Delete event (only visible to the creator).
• Push notifications — disable in your device's system settings; we'll stop receiving the token on your next app open.

For anything not covered above (e.g. removing a specific message you sent in a group chat), email [email protected] with details of what you'd like removed. We'll respond within 30 days.
