The short version: Culdesac collects only what's needed to help you find and join community events near you. We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, and you can delete your account and everything tied to it at any time from the app's settings.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, messages, posts, and uploaded media within 30 days. Some anonymized records may be retained longer for fraud prevention or to comply with legal obligations.

For users aged 13 to 17, parents or guardians may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's account and associated data. We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and where applicable, the GDPR's protections for children.

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify affected users if we discover a breach involving personal data.

9. International users

Culdesac is operated from the United States, and your data is processed in the United States and other regions where our service providers operate (including Canada and the European Union). By using the app, you consent to this transfer of data.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.
