Terms of Service

Last updated: August 6, 2026

The short version: Culdesac has zero tolerance for abusive or objectionable content. You own what you post. We filter severe harmful text, review reports within 24 hours, and remove content or accounts that break these rules.

1. Who we are

Culdesac is a community app for finding local events and groups, run from the United States. These terms are a contract between you and Culdesac ("we", "us"). Before you create an account or sign in, the app asks you to accept these terms and the Community Rules below.

2. Who can use Culdesac

You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials to yourself and for everything that happens under your account.

3. Your content

You own the posts, photos, messages, events, and group descriptions you create. By posting, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content inside the service so the app can work. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where content has been shared with others (for example, messages you sent stay visible to the people you sent them to).

4. Community rules

We have zero tolerance for abusive or objectionable content. Don't use Culdesac to:

Culdesac filters severe harmful text before it is published. Automated filters cannot understand every context or inspect every photo, so in-app reporting and human review are still required. You can report posts and plans from their action menu, report messages by pressing and holding them, and report or block an account from its profile. Blocking immediately removes that account's content from your feeds and messages.

New reports and blocks enter our moderation queue and notify the moderator. We review reports within 24 hours. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend an account, or permanently ban it. If there is an immediate threat, contact local emergency services first, then report it in the app or email [email protected].

5. Events

Events on Culdesac are organized by users, not by us. We don't vet hosts or venues and we're not responsible for what happens at an event. Use the same judgment you'd use meeting anyone new: public places, tell a friend, trust your gut.

6. The directory

Our city pages list clubs and events gathered from public sources and community submissions. We do our best to keep them accurate but can't guarantee a listing is current. If you run a listed club and want it corrected or removed, use the claim link on the listing or email us.

7. Ending your account

You can delete your account any time from Settings, or by following the steps at yourculdesac.com/delete-account. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (like content licences for shared messages and liability limits) survive termination.

8. Disclaimers

Culdesac is provided "as is". To the maximum extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If a change is significant we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Culdesac after a change means you accept it.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms: [email protected]. See also our Privacy Policy.
