Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2, 2026
The short version: be a decent neighbour. Don't post anything you wouldn't say at a block party. You own what you post, we can remove content that breaks these rules, and you can delete your account any time.
1. Who we are
Culdesac is a community app for finding local events and groups, run from the United States. These terms are a contract between you and Culdesac ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app or yourculdesac.com, you agree to them.
2. Who can use Culdesac
You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials to yourself and for everything that happens under your account.
3. Your content
You own the posts, photos, messages, events, and group descriptions you create. By posting, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content inside the service so the app can work. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where content has been shared with others (for example, messages you sent stay visible to the people you sent them to).
4. Community rules
Don't use Culdesac to:
- harass, threaten, or abuse anyone;
- post content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or violent;
- spam, scam, or impersonate other people;
- collect other users' data or use the service to build a competing dataset;
- organize events that are unsafe or unlawful.
Every post and profile has a report option, and you can block any user. We review reports and may remove content, suspend, or ban accounts that break these rules. If you see something that worries you, report it in the app or email [email protected].
5. Events
Events on Culdesac are organized by users, not by us. We don't vet hosts or venues and we're not responsible for what happens at an event. Use the same judgment you'd use meeting anyone new: public places, tell a friend, trust your gut.
6. The directory
Our city pages list clubs and events gathered from public sources and community submissions. We do our best to keep them accurate but can't guarantee a listing is current. If you run a listed club and want it corrected or removed, use the claim link on the listing or email us.
7. Ending your account
You can delete your account any time from Settings, or by following the steps at yourculdesac.com/delete-account. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (like content licences for shared messages and liability limits) survive termination.
8. Disclaimers
Culdesac is provided "as is". To the maximum extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. If a change is significant we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Culdesac after a change means you accept it.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms: [email protected]. See also our Privacy Policy.
